Round-Pin Heat Sinks
Round-pin heat sinks provide superior cooling performance in two key areas: their ability to handle airflow from any direction (omnidirectional) and their excellent heat dissipation capability at low airflow. These properties make them highly resilient and indispensable in many applications where consistent and reliable cooling is critical.
Plate-Fin Heat Sinks
Plate-fin heat sinks made from extruded aluminum are cost-effective and offer superior thermal performance in forced convection when the fins are aligned with a fixed airflow direction. When an omnidirectional feature is not required, these heat sinks provide the most economical solution. Extruded aluminum heat sinks can be easily customized and have an excellent surface finish and appearance.
Elliptical-Pin Heat Sinks
Cold-forged elliptical-pin heat sinks are the ideal choice when there is sufficient airflow (greater than 200 LFM or 1.0 m/sec) and both low thermal resistance and low pressure drop are required. The heat sinks can be forged from pure aluminum 1060/1070, which has high thermal conductivity (~240 W/m-K), or other aluminum and copper alloys, such as 6063-T5 and C11000.
Cross-Cut Heat Sinks
Cross-cut heat sinks are produced through standard extrusion followed by a slotting process that creates rectangular pins. These cross-cuts enhance thermal performance by promoting turbulence, which disrupts the stagnant air boundary layers formed on the extruded fins. The omnidirectional configuration allows air to approach from any direction, ensuring effective cooling even if the airflow is not perfectly straight or parallel.
Heat Sink Attachment Hardware
Heat sink attachment hardware plays a vital role in thermal management. A good attachment method can improve the performance of the interface material, ensure continuous operation in harsh environments, and extend the life of the product. Our innovative captive screws, low profile screws, and push pins are designed to pass rigorous thermal and mechanical tests involving high temperature, thermal cycling, shock, and vibration conditions and give you peace of mind when designing your products.
